Walmart used to be famous for its 24 hours stores. You could go into a Walmart store at any time of the day and shop to your heart’s content. Not anymore. Just like everything else that had to do with retail, Walmart’s hours were changed as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic. In March 2020, in response to the soaring number of infection cases all over the United States, Walmart announced that its US stores would only be open from 7 am to 8:30 pm.
That was the bad news. The good news was that in Aug 2020, Walmart decided to extend the business hours of its stores – more than 4,000 of its 4,700 stores in the United States were to be open from 7 am to 10 pm. And then 3 months later in Nov 2020, Walmart expanded the operating hours of its US stores once again.

Moreover, every Tuesday from 6 am to 7 am, Walmart stores will host a special shopping hour for seniors age 60 or more, and those who are immunocompromised. Different departments within a Walmart store such as the Vision Center or the Auto Care Center may have business hours that are different from that of the main store. To be sure you have the correct business hours of a department, you can either call it directly or look up its business hours online.

Walmart Returns Hours
While most Walmart stores are typically open from 7 am to 11 pm 7 days a week, the business hours of the Customer Service Desk at the front of each Walmart store may not be the same as that of the main store.
Normally Walmart customer service for returns opens between 7 and 8 in the morning and close between 9 and 11 at night. However, there is no “official” set of opening hours for returns at Walmart customer service desk. It depends on the decision of each store manager and the staffing levels of that store.
While the hours of the customer service desk do vary between different Walmart stores, each individual store does maintain consistent hours for customer service, so those hours will not be in constant flux.
Tip You do not need to go to the Customer Service Desk for returns. Most product returns can be processed at a regular register.
There are 2 types of products that cannot be handled by a regular register – jewelry and cell phones. These products must be returned to their respective departments since an associate there must inspect them first before returns can be accepted.
