Can You Return Makeup to Walmart?

Walmart allows you to return all makeup products purchased in-store or online within 90 days of purchase. You will receive a full refund for unopened items as long as you can provide a receipt, valid government-issued photo ID, and the refund will be returned to the original payment method.

Are There Any Makeup Products You Can’t Return?

All makeup products can be returned to Walmart, and there are no exceptions. This includes lipsticks and foundation, and it also includes similar products such as nail polish or perfumes. 

As long as you return everything that came with your purchase, along with your receipt, then a refund or exchange is possible.

There are very few products that Walmart won’t accept for return, and in most cases, it’s due to state law or health and safety issues for accepting those products.

Can You Return Heavily Used Makeup?

Walmart will not accept heavily used makeup. If you try to return a product that you more than lightly used, your refund will be refused unless you can provide a valid reason why you used so much but now want to return the makeup.

The only valid reason for returning makeup that is heavily used would likely be if you found a defect further into the product once you started using it. In most situations, Walmart will accept any products back that are found to be defective or unusable.

Can I Return Makeup To Walmart After 90 Days?

In most cases, you can’t return anything to Walmart after 90 days; this is a very fair amount of time for you to determine if the product is right for you. If you find yourself with a valid reason to need more than 90 days, then you will need to discuss it with the store manager, but that is ultimately up to them to decide if they want to help.

You may also not get to talk to the store manager if the service desk doesn’t believe you have a valid reason to extend your return time.

The only exception is during the Christmas purchasing period. Items purchased between November 1 and December 25 will not start the 90-day countdown until December 26.

What If The Makeup Has Gone Bad Or The Bottle Is Damaged: If you buy makeup and find that it’s deteriorated or has other defects, then you can return it for an exchange without any problems.
