Marriott has launched their loyalty program Marriott Bonvoy in August 2018. Anyone can join for free and earn 10 points per $1 spent on eligible hotel charges that can be exchanged for a free night stay or merchandise purchase. You can earn bonus points for credit card purchase or referral stay.
To enroll as a member, you need to create an account and provide your valid details by visiting marriott.com or downloading the Marriott Bonvoy app or through your social account.
After agreeing on the terms and conditions, you will be automatically enrolled as a Marriott Bonvoy member. The existing member can log into their account with their email ID.

How Does Marriott Bonvoy Work?
The registered members can earn 10 points per dollar through in-store, online, or in-app qualifying hotel booking. The earned point depends upon the amount and method of payment, membership status, and the property in which you stay.
The payment for the stay made through Marriott Bonvoy credit cards issued by Chase and American Express will reward you with additional points. The new cardholders will receive a welcome bonus that ranges between 50,000 to 100,000 points.
- Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card – When you spend $3000 in 3 months will give 3 free night stay and 10x total points on eligible purchases at gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores using the card within 6 months. It has a $95 annual fee. You can earn up to 17x total points for every$1 spent at participating hotels and 2x points on other purchases.
- Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card – When you spend $1000 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months, you will earn 30,000 bonus points. It has no annual fee. You can earn up to 14x total points for every$1 spent at participating hotels and 2x points on travel purchases.
- Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card – With this card for a $3000 purchase within 3 months will reward you with 75,000 bonus points. It has a $450 annual fee. You can earn 6 points on every $1 spent at participating hotels, 3 points for U.S restaurants and flight booking, 2 points for other eligible purchases.
- Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card – With this card for a $3000 purchase within 3 months will reward you 75,000 bonus points and earn up to $150 back in statement credits on eligible purchases. It has a $125 annual fee. You can earn up to 6x points at participating hotels, 4x points at U.S restaurants, and gas stations, 2x points on all other eligible purchases.
The guests can earn bonus points on Marriott promotions that are offered periodically with a bonus of 2000 points on each stay. The promotional updates will be notified to members through email.
The members can earn 2000 points and 5 stays when they refer a friend to the program.
The Eat Around Town program by Marriott allows members to earn additional Bonvoy points where you can link any credit card with Marriott Bonvoy account that you use for dining. Regular members will earn 4 points for each dollar spent and elite members earn 6 points for each dollar spent.
The other way to earn points is to purchase points that will be added to your balance during the promotional period or transfer your bank points to Marriott points. The members can earn 3 points per dollar spent on Cruise booking with the Marriott cruise partners.
Taking part in family reunions or corporate meetings also helps to accumulate points and get exclusive benefits for members. Up to 60,000 points can be earned per event and elite members earn up to 105,000 points on eligible food, beverage, audio-visual charge.
What Can I Get With Marriott Bonvoy Points?
The earned points can be redeemed in a number of ways including hotel stays, travel packages, Instant redemption, Complimentary stays, and Point advance. With the points, you can also experience Bonvoy moments based on your interest. The points can be used for gift cards and merchandise purchases from the Marriott collection.
With Cash+Points, you can mix cash and points redemption when you book hotels based on the category. With the base category hotel, you can redeem the standard rate of $55 and 3500 points and the highest category includes $440 and 42,500 points.
When you book with Pointsavers on your favorite destinations, you can save up to 20% based on the hotel category. For travel packages, you can redeem up to 750,000 points a week of accommodation with airline miles included.

How Can I Redeem Marriott Bonvoy Points?
To redeem your earned points, search the point needed for the selected destination, select the calendar icon to view the current redemption point rate, Click “View Availability” and enter the travel date and book your free nights using points by clicking the “Use your Points” button.
Your current balance point will be displayed on the home screen of your account. The Marriott points will expire after 24 months of inactivity.
