How To Watch Out of Market NFL Games

If you have moved to a new city or joined a fantasy football league, you may want to follow out-of-market games. Watching out-of-market games is trickier than watching local-area games. But still, there are a few ways you can do so.

  • NFL Sunday Ticket: $70 – $99 per month. This package is specifically designed for people who want to watch out-of-market games. Its main downside is that it is not cheap
  • NFL RedZone: $5 – $10 per month add-on. This is similar to NFL Sunday Ticket, but it only shows an out-of-market game when teams are about to score inside their opponent’s 20-yard line or reach the end zone
  • Use a VPN: $4 – $12 per month. By using a VPN, you can spoof your location and pretend to be located somewhere else. For example, say you live in Boston. Normally, the only local-market games you can get are those featuring the Patriots, the local team of Boston. By using a VPN, you can spoof your location to, say, Indianapolis. That way, Colt games, games that used to be “out-of-market” to you, have now become “local-games” to you. This way, you can now watch Colt games on services such as CBS All Access or Yahoo! Sports App

Watch NFL Games on NFL Sunday Ticket

NFL Sunday Ticket shows Sunday afternoon regional games, but only regional games that are out-of-market.

In a sense, NFL Sunday Ticket is the perfect complement to the Sunday afternoon coverages by CBS and Fox. While CBS and Fox only show local-market games, NFL Sunday Ticket only shows out-of-market games.

Combine all 3 (CBS, Fox, and NFL Sunday Ticket) and you get all the regional games played on Sunday afternoons.

Watch NFL Games on NFL RedZone

NFL RedZone is a premium channel owned by the NFL. It is a game-day special that broadcasts on Sundays during the NFL regular season from 1 pm to 8 pm Eastern Time. It provides “whip around” simulcast coverage of all the Sunday afternoon regional games airing in-progress on CBS and Fox.

NFL RedZone provides look-ins of live games in which teams are about to score inside their opponent’s 20-yard line or reach the end zone, hence the name RedZone.

Unlike the coverages by CBS and Fox that are local-market games only, with NFL RedZone you get to watch out-of-market games, albeit only when the games are in scoring positions.
