Amazon Return Policy On Supplements (Unused, Marketplace + More)

Amazon offers a wide range of products, and most fall under the standard return policy. Amazon’s standard return policy is a full refund or exchange for any unused items that you return within 30 Days. In most cases, you don’t need to return the original external packaging, and some light use is acceptable.

Because of the extensive range of products, there are different policies based on item and size. You need to check your item for Amazon’s return policy to confirm the details.

Certain items such as baby registry items like diapers, gifts, beauty products, and jewelry have different return timeframes or requirements for return.

Can You Return Supplements to Amazon?

You cannot get a refund or exchange supplements on Amazon if you simply change your mind, but you can receive a refund or replacement product if there is a defect or issue with the supplement you received within 30 days of delivery.

You can return some supplements within the standard 30-day return window, items such as caffeine pills or other supplements provided by some marketplace sellers. However, you’ll want to think twice about buying from marketplace sellers due to this return policy.

You’ll need to check the return policy for any supplement you purchase to see if it’s returnable. Amazon will only exchange or refund some supplements due to defect. You can find the return policy for each item under the “Buy Now” button.

You may still need to return the item to Amazon to confirm you haven’t used it heavily. This return is to ensure there is no fraud in your return as well as check the product for issues. Amazon takes these returns only for proof and not to resell the product.

How to Return Supplements At Amazon

You can return supplements to an Amazon Hub Locker rather than through the mail. You can drop off your return at one of 18,000+ locations for free if that’s more convenient than mail.

Ensure when you package your item that it’s no larger than 18 in x 14 in x 12; otherwise, it won’t fit into the return locker.

  1. Log into Amazon or create an account
  2. Go to the returns center
  3. Enter your order number included on the shipping receipt in your package.
  4. Select search and select the items you wish to return.
  5. Select “Return To Amazon Hub Locker” and choose your preferred location
  6. You’ll receive a drop-off code via email along with a reminder of the location.
  7. Package your item and take it to your selected drop-off location
  8. Enter your drop-off code.
  9. The Amazon Hub Locker will provide further instructions on the screen.

You will have until the close of business the following business day to return your item. Amazon will not guarantee your reservations for the locker if you miss your return window.

You can still try to return your item or cancel and reserve your space again for up to 30 days from your original return attempt.

How to Return Supplements By Mail To Amazon

You can return supplements by mail, using a variety of carriers that best match your location. However, if your return label does not include postage, you will need to pay for the return using whatever method you want or drop the package off at an Amazon Hub Locker.

You will need to return most supplements for destruction but Amazon won’t resell them.

  1. Log into Amazon or create an account
  2. Go to the returns center
  3. Enter your order number included on the shipping receipt in your package.
  4. Select search and select the items you wish to return.
  5. Select the return method, which could include USPS, FedEx, or another carrier.
  6. Package your item, including the return authorization inside the package
  7. Add the return label with the address to the outside of your package.
  8. Take your item to the nearest drop-off location for the carrier you picked.

You can use the same box that your item arrived in or a similar-sized box.

Types of Amazon Returns

Amazon will not allow returns or exchanges for items they sell or fulfill. You still have 30 days to complain about any issues with the product to get a refund or replacement product though.

You will likely need to return the item through mail or dropped off at an Amazon locker or other drop-off location.

Some marketplace sellers will allow you to return the item; there may be a shipping fee charged to your refund if the product isn’t defective.

Gifts are handled in the same way, and you may request a refund or exchange for a gift you receive. It will be credited towards your account as a gift card if it’s defective. But you won’t be able to return the gift if you just don’t like it.

Can I Return Medication From The Pharmacy?

Medications are covered under a different return policy, and you can not return medications to the Amazon pharmacy. However, if you find issues such as the wrong medication, dosage issues, or other problems, you can contact support to get the problem addressed.

You may be able to keep the original medication, and a new one will be issued, or you may need to send the medication back so the pharmacy can destroy it.

You need to contact Amazon Phamarcy for any issues found with Pharmacy products: 1-855-745-5725.

Why Do Marketplace Sellers Accept Returns?

Marketplace sellers are independent sellers trying to make money. While they need to accept returns or replace defective products, they want to try and resell any items that haven’t been opened or tampered with.

The concern is that the quality control of the returned products may not be as good as you’d hope, and you have no idea where marketplace items have been delivered or who has handled them.

In most situations, it’s better to use a seller that doesn’t accept and resell returns or that you trust with the products you are consuming.

Amazon Return Exceptions

What If The Return Window Has Passed:  If you find a defect or issue with your supplement after the 30-day return window, then you’re going to be out of luck.

The other exceptions are for holiday purchases between October 1 and December 31, allowing you to complain or return items until January 31.

What If The Item Is Damaged: If you receive a damaged, opened, or otherwise defective supplement, you should request an exchange of your item within the return window, which by default will be 30 days.

What If I Don’t Have A Receipt: You will not need a receipt for supplements you purchase or gifts. You can submit a return or exchange request through the Amazon website using the information provided on your order or gift packaging.

If you receive a gift but can’t find the order number or provide enough information to return the item, you will need to get the original purchaser to provide the information or return the item.

What If I Don’t Have The Original Packaging: Original packaging will not be required to exchange a defective product.

Amazon marketplace sellers want original packaging to be sent back with your return so they can resell the product.

What If The Item Has Already Been Used: If you’ve used the supplement and changed your mind, then a refund or exchange is not possible. Returns will only be accepted for unused items or defective items.
